The National Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) have urged public and private sector employees to work from home on 2 and 3 May due to expected unstable weather conditions in the UAE. This applies to all government institutions and private sector workers, except for essential roles that require physical presence or involvement in relief and recovery efforts.
However, this is just a recommendation, and the ultimate decision lies with the relevant authorities. Additionally, NCEMA has announced the closure of all roads leading to valleys, flooded regions, and dams in the UAE. Residents are advised to avoid mountainous and desert areas, as well as the sea, in the coming days.
The National Centre for Meteorology has indicated that the upcoming unstable weather won't reach the intensity of the event on 16 April, when the country experienced a year's worth of rainfall in a single day. Nevertheless, NCEMA is taking all necessary measures to safeguard the public's safety.
