Sharjah Confirms Opening Of All Blocked Roads Affected By Heavy Rains

WAM

On 16 April, the UAE faced severe weather conditions, causing widespread disruption across the nation. As efforts continue to restore normalcy, the local Emergency, Crisis, and Disaster Management Team in Sharjah has announced the reopening of all roads previously blocked due to heavy rains in the city.

Authorities have confirmed the removal of the relief tent next to King Faisal Mosque as life returns to normal. However, all official channels for donations remain accessible through the designated outlets announced by government agencies.

Furthermore, the authorities lauded the efforts of all institutions and individuals who quickly responded to the humanitarian appeal and provided donations at the tent to those impacted.

As conditions improve in Sharjah, homeowners impacted by natural disasters will receive aid under Sharjah Executive Council Resolution No. 8 of 2024, as announced on 23 April. Those affected can apply for aid through the Sharjah Digital Platform. The provided link helps gather damage reports, organise aid, and access assistance.

Additionally, commercial and economic establishments are given a one-month extension to renewals and violation payments, considering damages caused by heavy rain. This measure aims to ease the financial burden on those affected by recent weather events.
