After surviving the worst rainfall in 75 years, the UAE is recovering, with Dubai International Airport (DXB) set to resume normal operations within 24 hours, marking a return to full capacity and regular schedules, according to Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer of Dubai Airports.

Al Joker, in a statement to the Emirates News Agency, noted that Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 have commenced gradual normalisation, leading to improved movement. Underlining passenger safety as the top priority, he emphasised the collaborative efforts among airport teams, partners, and airlines to swiftly restore normal operations and assist affected travellers.

Al Joker highlighted the efforts exercised over the past hours and days, and emphasised that the airport's response and emergency teams, along with various departments, strategic partners, and airlines, have collaborated extensively to coordinate efforts for the return to normal operations and to assist affected passengers and guests.

Furthermore, Dubai Airports commended the dedicated staff for their tireless work in ensuring guest comfort and safety, expressing gratitude for travellers' understanding during this period.

DXB Urges Passengers To Exercise Caution

As DXB works to restore normal operations, it advises passengers to only come to the airport if their flight departure is confirmed. Due to ongoing congestion, passengers are advised not to arrive excessively early. DXB recommends arriving at the terminal no more than two hours before the scheduled departure time.

Furthermore, for baggage, DXB has said, "There is a backlog of baggage due to resource constraints; please contact your airline in case of lost baggage."
