Eid Al-Fitr is a time for joy and togetherness, where families come together to eat and exchange gifts. However, not everyone has the privilege of celebrating with loved ones. To ensure that everyone can enjoy the festivities, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has partnered with various organisations including the Emirates Red Crescent, Rashid Centre for People of Determination, Al Etihad Charity Foundation, Keolis MHI (Dubai Metro and Tram Operator), and Roxy Cinema to launch a series of Eid Al-Fitr initiatives. These initiatives aim to bring happiness to orphans, People of Determination, and students by providing them with Eid clothing, organising recreational outings, and giving Eidiya (gift money to children).
RTA's Eid initiatives aim to strengthen community bonds and show solidarity with orphans and People of Determination. They aim to spread Eid joy by providing traditional Emirati attire, such as Mandoras (men’s gowns) and Makhaweer (women’s gowns), reflecting UAE's identity.
This collaboration involves Emirates Red Crescent, Al Etihad Charity Foundation, and Dar Al Hay Gents Tailoring for distributing Kandoras to males. Additionally, an initiative with Salama Tailoring will provide Makhaweer to girls from the Rashid Centre for People of Determination.
Eid gifts also include Eidiya for students from charitable schools to support their personal needs. Keolis MHI is organising a cinema outing for orphaned children to ensure they have a memorable and enjoyable experience during the festive season.
These initiatives underscore the values of generosity and kindness, enriching the Eid celebrations for all involved.
