UAE's national airline and one of the leading carriers Eithad Airways, has released its initial traffic data for January 2024. The airline welcomed over 1.4 million passengers in January 2024, achieving an average load factor of 86.04% for the month. This contributes to 35% year-on-year growth in customer numbers for January 2024. CEO of Etihad Airways, Antonoaldo Neves, highlighted the remarkable numbers and emphasised the airline's rapid expansion, with flights to five additional destinations compared to the same period in 2023, positioning Etihad as one of the world's fastest-growing carriers.
Antonoaldo Neves stated, "We are responding to customer demand by increasing flight frequencies to key destinations, resulting in nearly 27% more weekly departures for Summer 2024 compared to the previous summer."
Recently, Etihad Airways has commenced daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram in India, increasing their total number of Indian gateways to 10.
Antonoaldo Neves expressed pride in welcoming 1.4 million guests to Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport in January, with plans to further expand the network and flight frequencies throughout 2024.
In January 2024, Etihad Airways achieved significant growth in its network and operational efficiency, with a strong focus on expanding its presence in key markets across the Middle East and the Indian subcontinent.
It included increased flight frequencies to cities such as Jeddah, Riyadh, Amman, Beirut, Colombo, Kolkata, and Bangalore, as well as the addition of two new Indian destinations, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram, in response to growing demand.
