UAE Welcomes More Wounded Children And Cancer Patients From Gaza

On 31 January, Wednesday, the ninth group of wounded Palestinian children and cancer patients arrived in Abu Dhabi, following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed had ordered the provision of medical treatment for 1,000 wounded children and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza Strip in the hospitals of the UAE.

Dr. Maha Barakat, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Medical and Life Sciences, accompanied the evacuation plane from Al Arish, Egypt, and reiterated the UAE's commitment to supporting Palestinians in Gaza, particularly addressing the needs of injured children and cancer patients facing challenges in accessing necessary healthcare.

A specialised medical team supervised the evacuation of 49 wounded children and cancer patients, bringing the total number of patients received by UAE hospitals to 426. The UAE field hospital in Gaza has received a total of 2,644 cases.

Under the 'Gallant Knight 3' humanitarian operation, the UAE has sent 15,000 tonnes of ongoing food assistance and established water desalination stations with a capacity of 1.2 million gallons daily. This initiative has benefited over 600,000 individuals in Gaza.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the UAE government and leadership for their continuous humanitarian and medical support. Since the crisis began, the UAE has been unwavering in its support for Gaza, initiating Operation 'Gallant Knight 3' on 5 November, 2023 to provide essential humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
