Free buses, Extended Metro Timings And More Announced In Dubai For New Year's Eve

To ease New Year's Eve celebrations in Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced extended hours for the Dubai Metro and Tram. These main transportation services will operate continuously for 40 hours starting from 31 December, providing convenient options for the public.

Dubai Metro And Dubai Tram Timings

- Dubai Metro will be operational from 8am on 31 December, to midnight on 1 January 2024.

- Dubai Tram will be operational from 9am on 31 December, to 1am on 2 January.

The Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station will close at 5pm on New Year's Eve or earlier if capacity is reached.

However, the rest of the metro's Green and Red Line network will provide continuous service for 40 hours, starting at 8am on Sunday 31 December, ensuring convenient transportation options for commuters during one of the busiest times of the year.

Free Buses In Dubai

Additionally, the RTA plans to introduce a fleet of 230 buses, including 20 double-deckers offering complimentary services to the public.

Additional Parking 

About 900 extra parking spots will be provided outside the event area, with public transport buses serving these parking locations. It includes 500 spaces at Al Wasl Club and 400 at Al Jafiliya (General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs), starting from 3pm.

The additional parking facilities aim to accommodate the increased number of vehicles during the festivities, providing attendees with convenient and secure parking options.

Waste Management In Dubai During New Year's Eve 

Dubai Municipality has deployed 242 supervisors and monitors, along with 2,281 sanitation workers, to maintain cleanliness around celebration sites and nearby areas, preserving Dubai's aesthetic charm. Their responsibilities include waste removal, maintaining tidy roads, and placing more than 300 waste storage facilities in crowded spots. 

Additionally, 630 private sector sanitation workers have been hired for specific sites, complemented by over 500 public volunteers, to extend the efforts to industrial, residential, and desert areas.

Safety At Parks And Beaches 

Dubai Municipality has assigned a team of 75 monitors and inspectors to oversee public parks, recreational facilities, and fireworks sites. Operations will be coordinated from a control centre located at the Dubai Frame.

Dubai authorities are ensuring that residents and visitors make the most of their time in Dubai during New Year's Eve.
