For over 60 years, the iconic Hindu temple in Bur Dubai, established in 1958 by Sindhi traders, has been a symbol of the rich cultural mosaic of the UAE. Situated close to the Dubai Museum, this 60-year-old temple stands as a testament to cultural diversity, housing shrines dedicated to various deities, including Shiva. It has served as a central place for spiritual congregations during celebratory events such as Diwali, Holi, and Shivaratri.
And now, the temple is being closed and will relocate to the new Jebel Ali temple on 3 January 2024. Several notices have been posted at all entrances of the temple in Bur Dubai to confirm the move to the new temple in Jebel Ali, marking a new chapter in the cultural landscape of the region.
