One pilot has been found dead after the Bell 212 chopper, owned by Aerogulf, crashed off the coast in the UAE on Thursday, 7 September. The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) confirmed in a statement that during the ongoing search operations, a member of the plane’s crew was found, and he passed away in the accident.
GCCA has not confirmed the nationality of the deceased but extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to the family.
In a statement, GCCA mentioned that an AeroGulf helicopter had crashed off the coast of Umm Al Quwain, during a night training flight that took off on 7 September evening from Al Maktoum International Airport.
The rescue and search operations are still in progress, and the GCCA, confirmed that the process of recovering the remaining parts of the wreckage is continuing. All procedures are being conducted according to the best practices in cooperation with the competent authorities in search and rescue.
Lastly, the authorities have requested the public to obtain information from its official channels and to prevent rumours and false information.
