Dubai Police enters the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest police patrol in the world, using the Bugatti Veyron sports car. Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander in Chief of Dubai Police, received the Guinness certificate from the Guinness Book of World Records.
The speed of the Bugatti Veyron sports car, the fastest patrol car in the world, can reach 407 kilometres per hour at 1,000 horsepower, surpassing the previous police patrol record that was registered under a USA police force using a Lamborghini sports car, which reached a speed of 360 kilometres per hour. Deploying the Bugatti Veyron is part of strengthening the Dubai Police’s fleet of patrol cars. Dubai Police added the Bugatti Veyron to its fleet with the aim of strengthening the security presence of its policemen in important tourism spots, such as the Khalifa Tower, the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, JBR and others.
