Dubai Restaurants Awarded Three Michelin Stars

Dubai witnessed a historic milestone as two restaurants were awarded three Michelin stars for the first time ever in the city, a prestigious recognition marking the highest level of global gastronomic excellence. In addition to this, two Dubai restaurants were newly awarded one Michelin stars and five restaurants also received Bib Gourmands. 

FZN by Björn Frantzén at Atlantis The Palm, got three Michelin stars in its debut. Led by Chef Björn Frantzén, the restaurant delivers a  luxurious dining experience that harmoniously fuses Scandinavian and Asian influences using world-class ingredients. It is the chef’s first concept in the Middle East and already a hit.

Joining it is Trèsind Studio at St. Regis Gardens in Palm Jumeirah, which made history as the first Indian restaurant in the world to be awarded three Michelin stars. Trèsind Studio is led by Chef Himanshu Saini, who continues to push creative boundaries with an immersive tasting menu inspired by Indian regional flavours.

Two restaurants in Dubai were also newly awarded one Michelin star, including Jamavar, an Indian restaurant located in Address Residences in Dubai's Opera District, Downtown Dubai, offering perfectly balanced Indian flavours, and Jumeirah's Thai restaurant Manao, led by Chef Abhiraj Khatwani, which reimagines Thai classics through its diverse menu including a 11-course tasting menu.

With these additions, fourteen restaurants now hold one Michelin star, including 11 Woodfire, Al Muntaha, avatara, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, Hakkasan, Hoseki, La Dame de Pic, moonrise, Orfali Bros, Ossiano, Smoked Room, Tasca by José Avillez. 

Additionally, five restaurants in Dubai were awarded Bib Gourmand distinction which honours restaurants that serve exceptional food at moderate prices. The five restaurants are Sufret MaryamHarummanis, Hawkerboi, Khadak and DUO Gastrobar-Creek Harbour.

Sufret Maryam, led by Chef Salam Daqqaq, offers a tribute to Levantine home style cooking with a warm, welcoming vibe and generous portions. Harummanis, led by Chef Akmal is a Malaysian kitchen serving bold, authentic and balanced flavours. DUO Gastrobar-Creek Harbour offers refined comfort food in a well-priced menu, while Khadak gives you a taste of Indian street food and Hawkerboi introduces you to the street food flavours of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Myanmar. 

They join other restaurants in Dubai that retained Bib Gourmand distinction, including Reif Japanese Kushiyaki led by Chef Reif Othman, renowned for quality, flavour and artistry and other favourites including Bait Maryam led by Chef Salam Daqqaq, Indya by Chef Vineet Bhatia and others.
