Looking for a way to put the mind and body through a series of amazing challenges while also having a blast?
Prison Island at City Centre Al Zahia in Sharjah is open, and offers visitors a series of 25 unique physical and mental challenges, that are great for bonding with family and friends or for team building.
Connector went to try out the amazing experience, and it is definitely one that will keep having visitors coming back for more, with endless opportunities for fun.
Open to ages 8 to 88 years old, the amazing facility had a range of interactive activations to enjoy.
On entering the area, there are multiple doors and behind each one lies exciting challenges to enjoy. With each challenge, a maximum number of points are allocated, where guests on reaching the goal, are placed higher up on the leader board.
Two of our favourite activities were the basketball and colour blind challenge.
The basketball challenge has a timer, and within the set limit, the team needs to shoot the balls into either the three basketball hoops, the garbage can or the cardboard box. The balls need to be thrown only into the ones that light up in green and require skill and attention to make sure the right targets are being hit, making it an interactive and fun one for all to enjoy.
The colour blind challenge is a sequence task, where one member starts the challenge by clicking on the right coloured buttons, green, red, blue or yellow, as shown on the screen. As it progresses, the group must work as a team to press the buttons in three sections, with only the person at the front able to see the screen. To make the challenge harder, the member needs to look at the logo on the screen and not the colour mentioned, as by clicking the wrong button, the task ends.
Some of the other thrilling tasks are solving puzzles in different corners of a tilted room before the timer runs out, listening to a music sequence and finding it on your own, kicking a football into four squares, and a giant pinball game.
Prices for Prison Island are set at Dhs 99 for children and Dhs 129 for adults for an hour.
Another thrilling element at the facility is Laser Island, which is essentially the highly thrilling laser tag.
On putting on our vests and holding onto our guns, we all had to run around and shoot other players with our guns, while trying not to get shot. The highest scorer wins the game.
The game was held in a neon-lit area covered in graffiti, and was an interactive one, which kept everyone on high alert, trying to shoot people from blind spots.
Prices for the Laser Island experience are set at Dhs 59 for 15 minutes and Dhs 99 for half an hour, per person.
