First Jazz Festival Artists Announced

Tickets for the 18th Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival go one sale on Wednesday 6 November and the first two headline act have been announced. American R&B singer and songwriter Lauryn Hill will be taking to the stage on Wednesday 26 February at the annual event held at Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, and headlining on Thursday 27 February will be global superstar, singer songwriter Lionel Richie.   

Lauryn Hill has had a string of chart topping hits, with her former band the Fugues as well as as a solo artist, over a musical career spanning 25 years. Hill's hits include 'Fu-Gee-La', 'Ready Or Not', 'Doo- Wop (That Thing)', 'Ex-Factor' and 'Killing Me Softly’.  

Lionel Richie first performed in Dubai in April 2014 to a packed house at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, and returns again as part of the star studded line up performing over 3 days in February next year. Expect to here some of his all time classic hits such as 'Hello', 'Three Times A Lady', 'Endless Love', 'Say You, Say Me' and 'All Night Long'.   

Supporting Lauryn Hill will be British singer and songwriter Bruno Major, who's hits include ‘Easily' and 'Old Fashioned'. Supporting Lionel Richie will be jazz band Spyro Gyra, who's hits include 'Catching The Sun' and 'Cascade'. 

Previous artists performing at the Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival include Alicia Keys, Duran Duran, Jamiroquai, John Legend, Jools Holland, Mica Paris, Macy Gray and Snow Patrol. More acts will be announced for the three day festival over coming days.

The 18th Emirates Airline Dubai Jazz Festival is held from 26 to 28 February 2020 a the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre.
