A new sporting initiative is set to bring communities together across the UAE with the launch of the Emirates Villages Run Series. Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs, and Chairman of the Emiratis Council for Balanced Development, the series is part of the Year of Community 2025 and aims to promote health, inclusivity, and cultural pride.
Organised in partnership with ADNOC and supported by sports councils, municipalities, and tourism authorities, the series will run from October through December, offering races for all age groups and abilities. Participants include families, women, youth, senior citizens, schools, sports clubs, and People of Determination, creating an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere.
The race calendar covers seven scenic village destinations: Qidfa in Fujairah on 11 October, Masfout in Ajman on 18 October, Al Rams in Ras Al Khaimah on 25 October, Falaj Al Mualla in Umm Al Quwain on 1 November, Dibba Al Hisn in Sharjah on 22 November, Al Lisaili in Dubai on 29 November, and concludes in Al Shuwaib, Abu Dhabi on 6 December. A total prize pool of Dhs 500,000 will be shared across the events.
More than just competition, the series doubles as a cultural celebration, featuring traditional Emirati performances that highlight national heritage and showcase the unique charm of each host village.
