Dubai Media Office

To celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced the commencement of a series of diverse Ramadan public enjoyment events and activities. One of the activities is themed 'Ramadan Nights', the first of which will take place at the Etihad Museum in Jumeirah on 15 and 16 March, revolving around the UAE's involvement in the development and construction of the lunar space station.

A range of entertainment shows and workshops, in partnership with the Dubai Astronomy Group and Gulf Photo Plus will be available at Ramadan Nights. These activities will enable visitors to delve into the mysteries of space and planets using a mobile planetarium and observation stations equipped with telescopes.

During 'Ramadan Nights' at Al Shindagha Museum in Dubai Creek, visitors from 22 to 31 March can enjoy various Ramadan-related activities inspired by local heritage. At the Traditional Crafts House, there will be a workshop on making traditional ‘Mukhawara’ attire and embroidery. In the ‘Safeefa Rug Tufting workshop, visitors will learn carpet weaving techniques using palm fronds.

At the Perfume House in Al Shindagha Museum, visitors can explore the art of making scented candles and learn about eco-friendly chimney designs. They can also create their own unique fragrances.

Meanwhile, interactive workshops will involve children in creative activities using gypsum, teaching henna application, guiding them in crafting traditional Emirati jewellery, and providing opportunities to play folk games like 'Al Karabi' and Tug of War.

In collaboration with the 'EmpowerHer' initiative, Dubai Culture will also host a Ramadan market showcasing products crafted by talented individuals to encourage them to display their work. The museum's visitor centre will be transformed into a space where visitors can immerse themselves in the Ramadan ambience and enjoy special Suhoor meals from various vendors for a period of 10-days from 9pm onwards.

The event will be free to attend, and you can pay for the meals and workshops directly at the event.

Other Initiatives For Ramadan

Dubai Culture, in partnership with talabat UAE and the Emirates Red Crescent, has launched the 5th edition of Ramadan Heroes as part of its social responsibility efforts. This initiative emphasises community unity and humanitarian work, continuing the success of previous editions.

In the fifth edition of the initiative, titled 'Celebrating the Gift of Giving', Dubai Culture aims to support underprivileged community members by urging the public to donate Iftar and Suhoor meals and talabat Mart Ramadan Boxes through the 'Ramadan Heroes Virtual Restaurant' on the talabat UAE app. These donations will be safely and promptly delivered to beneficiaries nationwide, coordinated with the field teams of the Emirates Red Crescent.
