Ras Al Khaimah Art, a year-long cultural initiative promoting talent, announces the opening of the Ras Al Khaimah Art 2024 Festival on 2 February at 9 pm. Held at Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village, curated by Alfio Tommasini and presented by Aldar, the festival embraces the theme 'In Motion'.
With over 100 artists, masterclasses, public talks, and live performances, it promises an immersive cultural experience, bridging heritage and modernity. This festival will captivate visitors with its curated display and sensory delights, marking a significant cultural milestone in Ras Al Khaimah.
In 2024, new addition to the festival is The Souq, a contemporary art exhibition and market featuring artists and craftspeople globally. Besides this, another new addition is Ephemeral Whispers, a kinetic art installation on the Fort tower, symbolising unity and the dynamic nature of human interactions.
The 12th edition will also host a series of interactive experiences and live performances. Visitors can unleash their creativity with a program of artistic workshops, from wire knitting and resin ocean art to photography and ceramics, or enjoy dynamic musical experiences, stand-up comedy, and other artistic performances with Live Performance Saturdays.
Visitors will also get to take part in discussions on culture, innovation, and sustainability with a six-part speaker series and enjoy an array of screenings with Friday Film Nights.
Indulge your culinary cravings during the festival with the return of the award-winning cultural heritage dining experience, Antica Australis. Enjoy specially curated four-course set menus highlighting local organic produce from Ras Al Khaimah, Australian native ingredients, and Emirati flavours. Antica Australis will host a limited series of lunch and dinner events over three weekends from 3 to 18 February, 2024.
The festival will be open to public from 2 February, 9pm to 12am. You can make the most of the festival with your pooches at the pet-friendly weekend from 9 to 11 February from 10am to 11.30pm. Family and community weekend will take place from 16 to 18 February from 10am to 11.30pm. Lastly, Cultural Weekend will be held between 23 to 25 February from 10am to 11.30pm.
