Dubai-ites, intricate and beautiful murals have taken over the emirate, and you can check them out only until 31 October. Yep, you read that right! Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, in association with Dubai Municipality, has revealed the creation of three artistic murals that draw inspiration from Dubai's nature, values, history, and heritage.
These murals are a part of the first Dubai Calligraphy Biennale held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council of Dubai. This biennale showcases 19 unique art exhibitions, over 150 educational workshops, and more than 25 insightful discussions at over 35 locations across Dubai.
Lebanese artist Ahmad Makary has curated these murals, which are placed in three public parks in Dubai, Umm Suqeim Park, Nad Al Sheba Park, and Abu Hail Park. These murals signify a fresh beginning in Dubai Culture's mission to put into action the Dubai Public Art strategy. The goal is to transform the emirate into an internationally accessible open-air art gallery. This initiative aims to offer distinctive artistic encounters, enhance visual culture, encourage innovation, and elevate the cultural and artistic environment in Dubai, all while promoting the emirate's creative economy.
So hurry, head to these parks and immerse yourself in the world of art.
