Calling all Akon fans! The renowned global R&B sensation, famous for his extensive discography including hits like 'Right Now (Na Na Na)', 'Lonely', and 'I Wanna Love You', is scheduled for a live performance in Abu Dhabi on Friday, 22 December. Akon, alongside Ne-Yo, will grace the stage at Abu Dhabi's Etihad Arena as part of the World Tennis League (WTL) event.
These acclaimed international artists are set to headline a special 'R&B evening' concert, with their performances marking the conclusion of an exciting day of tennis matches featuring some of the world's top talent.
They will join a starry selection of global music artists, with world-class performers including 50 Cent, UB40, The Original Wailers and Trojan Sound System already confirmed by organisers for the event on Yas Island.
Akon, a highly acclaimed singer, songwriter, and producer of international repute, has mesmerised audiences across the globe with his distinct fusion of R&B, hip-hop, and pop music for many years. His captivating voice and irresistible melodies have not only secured top positions on music charts but have also earned him multiple prestigious awards, including several Billboard Music Awards. Among his notable achievements, Akon holds a Grammy Award for his collaboration with Eminem on the hit track 'Smack That'.
Akon will be sharing the stage with Ne-Yo, following their 2011 collaboration with David Guetta on the chart-topping single, 'Play Hard'.
Ne-Yo's career has seen a steady ascent since his emergence into the mainstream during the early 2000s. He initially made a mark by penning 'Let Me Love You', a chart-topping pop sensation for Mario, before establishing himself as a prominent star in the music industry.
