The NBA, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), has revealed that T-Pain, the six-time Grammy Award-winning artist, producer, and songwriter, is set to take the stage at the inaugural NBA Fan Appreciation Day in Abu Dhabi. This exciting event marks the intersection of basketball, pop culture, and the NBA, and it will be held on Friday, 6 October, starting at 4.30pm at Etihad Arena.
The iconic American singer and Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean, well-known American actor and producer Michael B. Jordan will make special appearances. Additionally, NBA legends, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Ray Allen, Gary Payton, and Tim Hardaway Sr. will be present at NBA District, an interactive fan event at Manarat Al Saadiyat from 5 to 8 October. The NBA Fan Appreciation Day will have special appearances from players of the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves, as well as NBA legends like Abdul-Jabbar, Shawn Marion, Sam Perkins, and Kenny Smith. There will be exciting activities, including a skills challenge and a three-point contest featuring Mavericks and Timberwolves players, performances by the Mavericks Entertainment Team, Timberwolves Dunk Team, and mascots, along with a thrilling slam dunk contest featuring professional dunkers.
At NBA District, fans will have the chance to meet Abdul-Jabbar, Allen, Payton, and Hardaway Sr. They can also join skill challenges, three-point contests, and knockout games on a regulation-sized NBA court, snap photos with the Larry O’Brien Trophy, try out the new NBA Fantasy game, shop for exclusive NBA merchandise, and enjoy additional activities.
