Dubai is home to some of the most iconic landmarks in the UAE, and Emaar's Dubai Opera is one of them. A Jewel in the crown of Emaar, Dubai Opera is marking a continuous journey of artistic evolution since 2016. Known as the epicentre for performing arts in the Middle East, Dubai Opera has announced its calendar for the 2023-2024 season. It will celebrate its 7th anniversary with more than 40 breathtaking performances and offer the perfect amalgamation of operas, ballets, concerts, and musicals, enchanting millions of hearts.
Shows In September
The 2023 season starts with Tchaikovsky's immortal ballet- "Swan Lake," showcased from 8-10 September, followed by Puccini's heartrending operatic narrative, "Madama Butterfly," on 12-13 September. Both these performances are brought to life by the esteemed Hungarian State Ballet and Hungarian State Opera. Besides this, in September, Dubai Opera will also host the legendary Brazilian artist Gilberto Gil. The Grammy-laden artist with a career spanning over 50 years will bring his ''Aquele Abraco Tour'' to Dubai Opera on 29 September.
Shows In October
In October, guests will get a chance to enjoy the enchanting world of Roald Dahl's "Matilda" for the first time in the GCC from 3-15 October, offering a blend of whimsical storytelling and memorable tunes. Besides this, Internationally acclaimed violinist David Garrett will be performing on 26 October and Jazz virtuoso Kenny on 28 October.

For November, guests will get a chance to dive into dark realms of human ambition with a stirring performance of "Macbeth", from 3-5 November. Pakistani singer Ali Sethi, will take the stage on 11 November, bringing his unique blend of traditional South Asian melodies and modern rhythms. Rock legends Jethro Tull will enthrall us on 24 November, 2023, blending innovative flute melodies with iconic hits like 'Aqualung.'

On 1 December- Dubai Opera will mark an extraordinary cultural milestone with the historic debut of the celebrated Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan set to present a memorable gala concert titled “A Concert for Tomorrow.” The enchanting "Slava’s Snow Show," Theater show will run from 8-10 December.
On 12 December, Tinariwen, a collective of Tuareg musicians from the Sahara region of northern Mali, will stun us. From 15-17 December, the Ballet Theatre and State Opera Orchestra of Astana (Kazakhstan) will offer an enchanting rendition of "The Nutcracker." And on 21 December, Matteo Bocelli, a rising star from the famed Bocelli lineage, will bring his unique blend of classical and contemporary music to Dubai Opera.

In January 2024, Dubai Opera will begin the year with a cultural symphony for a new beginning. Vienna's iconic New Year concerts will take place on 1 January. Mike Oldfield's "Tubular Bells" will celebrate progressive rock on 12 January. And the mesmerising Ludovico Einaudi will return for a three-night engagement from 19-21 January.

In February, the popular- "The Phantom of the Opera" will make a comeback from 22 February to 10 March. And on 17-18 February, La Scala Theatre Ballet School from Milan, one of the globe's prominent classical ballet academies, will have its Dubai Opera debut.

On 24 April, pianist Alice Sara Ott will transport audiences through a vivid emotional spectrum with ''Echoes of Life.'' The legendary British band Incognito will enliven the stage with their trademark fusion of jazz, funk, and soul on 25 April.
April also marks the welcome of region's first MusicAeterna show. MusicAeterna, one of the world's most celebrated ensembles that constantly pushes the boundaries of its creative powers, will perform two concerts on 27-28 April dedicated to Tchaikovsky and Wagner. Lastly, Ravi Coltrane will celebrate International Jazz Day on 30 April.
Shows In May 2024
The month of May begins with classical chamber music performance by Gidon Kremer and Kremerata Baltica on 3 May. On 9 May, Dubai Opera will inaugrate first-ever Film Music Week dedicated to honouring iconic film composers. On 19 May, Grammy-winning trumpet virtuoso Chris Botti will deliver an evening full of poignant ballads and vibrant jazz tunes.
May will end with Rome Opera Ballet’s UAE debut. The Rome Opera Ballet, featuring Director and étoile Eleonora Abbagnato, will take centre stage in the UAE for the first time on 25-26 May.
