Spartan World Championship Set To Return To The UAE

The 3rd edition of the Spartan World Championship is set to return to Abu Dhabi.

Running from 8 to 10 December, the endurance event will take place at Al Wathba Desert, for the second consecutive year. The first edition was held at Liwa Desert.

The competition will open on 8 December where participants will be able to register for the event, and on 9 December the Men’s World Championship and the Women’s World Championship will be held. The World Team Championship will then take place on 10 December.

During the event, participants can opt between 5k, 10k and 21k challenges, where endurance will be tested through a series of obstacles including jumping over barricades, pushups, jumping through mud and more. 

During the three days, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Spartan will host additional events for various age groups, including the 1km to 3km run for children. 

Ticket prices start at Dhs 276 and can now be booked via the Spartan World Championship website.

The 2022 edition of the event saw over 5,000 participants compete from 75 countries around the world.
