Padam, a Nepalese receptionist in Dubai, has won the grand prize of Dhs 20 million as part of the weekly Mahzooz draw.
Close to retiring, Padam has lived in the UAE for over 23 years and has been working for the same employer, making his way among the ranks, starting out as a house help to now working as a receptionist.
On receiving the call from Mahzooz, Padam was shocked as previously he had only won Dhs 350 through Mahzooz, saying, "I don’t have words to express how overjoyed I am. I never dreamt of owning such a large amount of money. I normally set aside Dhs 35 every week to participate in Mahzooz, even if it means forsaking a meal or some groceries at times, because I knew this money will one day give me good returns."
During the same weekly draw, Sherlon won Dhs 1 million and was named the 6th weekly guaranteed raffle prize winner.
Sherlon, aged 35 years, who worked as a radiographer at a private hospital, previously having won only won Dhs 35 twice through Mahzooz, said, "I found out I had won Dhs 1,000,000 when I received a call from a friend. It was my wife who answered the call and she didn’t believe him at first. She thought it was a joke. But we were both thrilled to see that I became Dhs 1,000,000 richer when I checked my Mahzooz account later."
Additionally, as part of the Golden Ramadan Draw, Aboobacker won 400g of Mahzooz gold coins.
On purchasing a Dhs 35 water bottle via the Mahzooz website, participants will be entered in two draws. The grand draw winner will receive Dhs 20 million, and with the raffle draw, one winner each week is guaranteed a Dhs 1 million prize.
