The '1 Billion Meals Endowment' campaign has raised Dhs 514 million, reaching the halfway mark within 15 days since its launch.
Held during the Holy Month of Ramadan, the campaign by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of Dubai and Ruler of Dubai, aims to provide food to people around the world, who are less fortunate.
Around 87,000 people and companies donated towards the campaign.
Over the past four years, the campaign has expanded, starting with the inaugural '10 Million Meals' campaign launched in 2020, followed by the '100 Million Meals' campaign, providing food support to 20 countries in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
In 2022, the '1 Billion Meals' campaign was launched, donating to 50 countries around the world and aimed to contribute to eradicating world hunger.
People looking to contribute to the cause can do so via SMS, bank transfer, call centre, the 1 Billion Meals website or through the DubaiNow App.
