Dubai Police has made 67 arrests as part of the anti-begging campaign, launched for the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Called 'Begging is a Wrong Concept of Compassion', 31 men and 36 women were arrested.
The campaign aims to curb the number of beggars around Dubai and raise awareness amongst the public to donate to those in need through legal channels.
Begging can have serious effects as children, people of determination and the elderly are exploited for financial gains.
Individuals are also advised to report beggars via the call centre, 901 or through the 'Police Eye' service on the Dubai Police App.
