In 2022, Dubai Police provided over Dhs 11 million in financial aid and assistance to prisoners and their families.
The efforts are in line with the aim to support and provide basic rights to prisoners as well as help them on their journey to grow and, on completion of their sentence, join society and carry out their lives in a better manner.
The aid was given out to prisoners and their families to help solve issues, including paying rent for those unable to, covering educational expenses for children, providing medical care, childbirth expenses for female inmates as well as providing birth certificates for the children born.
Aid was also provided in the form of clothing, personal hygiene and more.
