Dubai Police has arrested 25 beggars during the first five days of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The arrests were made as part of the anti-begging campaign launched called 'Begging is a Wrong Concept of Compassion'.
From 23 to 27 March, 12 men and 13 women were arrested.
The initiative aims to curb begging in Dubai, as begging can lead to the exploitation of children, the sick and people of determination, instead, help should be given through official charities during the Holy Month.
Individuals are encouraged to report beggars through the call centre at 901 or through the Police Eye service on the Dubai Police App.
