Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) along with the Dubai Police General Headquarters have launched the second phase of the Traffic Incidents Management project.
The project will cover 15 highways and main streets in Dubai from 2023 to 2025.
The initial stage of the initiative led to a reduction in secondary injury-related incidents, improving traffic flow and speeding up the clearance of vehicles affected by incidents.
Phase II will tackle seven roads, including Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Khail Road, Dubai - Al Ain Road, Al Yalayes Road, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Al Ribat Road and Airport Road.
In 2024, Al Khail Road, Emirates Road, Jebel Ali - Lehbab Road and Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Road will be covered with Dubai - Hatta Road, Umm Suqeim Street, Expo Street and Hessa Street covered in 2025.
The selection of roads was based on the traffic intensity, particularly during peak hours, and the rising numbers of incidents and vehicle breakdowns on the roads.
