Additional Public Transport Available During The World Cup

RTA

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is gearing up for the FIFA World Cup Qatar by making public transport more accessible to all.

Held from 20 November to 18 December, football fans will be able to enjoy a seamless experience.

RTA is set to operate 1,382 metro trips daily, deploy 700 additional taxis, 60 public buses and three modes of marine transport, assisting around 1,200 passengers per hour.

With the help of Dubai Police and organisers, traffic to fan zones will be managed, with buses, taxis and water transport available to take fans from Bluewaters Island to Dubai Harbour.

Mobile teams will also be monitoring fan zones to manage traffic on King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street.

Around 700 taxis will be deployed, alongside the existing fleet of 11,310 taxis, available round the clock, on weekends and on public holidays.

Three new bus routes will be available, with the DWC1 route departing from Al Maktoum International Airport, passing through the Dubai Metro Expo Station, and continuing to Ibn Battuta Bus Station every 30 minutes till 20 December 2022.

The metro feeder link service, F55, will go from Al Maktoum International Airport to Dubai Metro Expo Station, from 5am to midnight, at a frequency of 30 minutes.

The night N55 route from 10pm until 5am, will connect Al Maktoum International Airport and the Dubai Expo Metro Station.

Two Dubai ferries and one water taxi will be available during the World Cup, with service timings synchronised to match schedules, connecting Bluewaters Island with Dubai Harbour, with a one-way fare of Dhs 25 for silver and Dhs 35 for gold class.
