dubizzle, one of the leading online classified platforms in the UAE, has introduced a new feature to protect users against online scammers.
To ensure that the seller is legitimate, a blue tick of trust will show up, allowing allow users to shop with ease.
To get verified, the seller must upload the front and back of their Emirates ID, the first and visa page of their passport, as well as a selfie video, to confirm their identity.
Additionally, verified users will also get priority from the customer support team on any issues faced.
Haider Ali Khan, CEO of Bayut and dubizzle and the head of EMPG MENA said, "Over the last few months, we have been conducting various experiments to understand the best way to approach authentication on dubizzle. As a result of this exercise, we were able to isolate some key pain points involving inaccurate and duplicate content. The Verified by dubizzle badge is the one of the many steps in our ongoing efforts to combat scams and create a better user journey on dubizzle. We have a lot of other initiatives planned in the near future to take this to the next level and provide an even more comprehensive experience, where users have a lot more research material available before connecting with prospective buyers or sellers on the platform."
