Two Public Transport Inspections Held

RTA

Two inspections for unlicensed transport activities and fare evasion on public transport were carried out.

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), along with the Dubai Police and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, held two inspections in June and July.

The inspections were held to ensure public transport users follow the rules set by the RTA.

The first inspection carried out over 15 days in Al Ghubaiba, found 39 violations, with 22 related to the use of unlicensed vehicles for passenger transport, and 17 violations for promoting the activities.

Six vehicles were seized during the inspection.

The second inspection found 693 violations, of which 591 violations were due to public transport users using the services and leaving without paying.

Over 30 of the violations were due to passengers unable to present their NOL cards on request, and 5 violations for using invalid cards.

One violation was issued for not complying with the instructions of inspectors or authorised personnel of RTA, and 61 violations were for not following the instructions posted on signboards.
