Emirati citizens that have lost or have expired passports can now return to the UAE with an 'e-return document'.
Announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MOFAIC), the service is also applicable to newborns.
The document can be obtained from anywhere within 30 minutes and will be provided free of charge, without having to visit the UAE Embassy or Consulate.
Issuance of emergency passports previously required three days.
The document can be applied for on the MOFAIC website or via the app.
