Around 33 vehicles were seized by the Dubai Police for violating traffic laws.
The traffic violations included drifting and racing in unauthorised places and reckless driving.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, said, "Traffic crackdown on unruly drivers was launched in response to reports they had received from residents on some reckless drivers committing severe traffic violations and driving in the opposite direction of traffic in different roads, including Jebel Ali - Lehbab Road, Jumeirah Road, and First Al Khail road."
Driving recklessly and participating in high-speed races can lead to serious injuries as well as an increase in mortality rates.
Drivers are advised to follow traffic rules and report violations via the 'We Are All Police' programme on the Dubai Police app or by calling the Dubai Police call centre, 901.
