Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has endorsed new improvement projects and services for taxis.
The initiative will enhance traffic safety, expand the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, and raise the level of operational efficiency of taxi services.
With the help of AI, the smart direction of the taxi system will be installed, assisting in analysing big data and directing taxis to the high-demand areas based on the forecast system.
The initiative will reduce fuel consumption as well as increase the number of journeys per vehicle.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA said, "The approved projects include the Robotic Process Automation, which will improve the operational efficiency of vehicles by 3%, increase the accuracy of data and forecast of areas with the highest demand by 10%, cut the trip time and increase the percentage of productive kilometres. It will also increase the rate of trip acceptance by 15%, and reduce the cost of human resources by 20%."
