Abu Dhabi Police has warned individuals against using illegal taxi transportation.
It is important to make sure to use legal services, as these services are not regulated and passengers can end up paying higher prices for the ride.
Additionally, the vehicles can be unsafe on roads and not insured to carry passengers, making it a risky choice.
To avoid the use of illegal taxis, use cab-hailing services like Abu Dhabi taxis, Careem or Uber, for safer journeys.
Inspection campaigns by the Abu Dhabi Police have been increased to find these illegal services.
Illegal taxis will be fined Dhs 3,000, will receive 24 black points and have their vehicle confiscated for 30 days.
