Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has carried out a campaign to target unlicensed passenger transportation.
The campaign was aimed at unlicensed vehicles taking passengers that have no social relationship with the driver for a fee and for promoting these services through face-to-face contact, social media or any form of media.
The joint campaign was led by the Passenger Transport Activities Monitoring Department and the Jebel Ali Police Station.
Over 39 violations were reported out of which 25 were due to the use of unlicensed vehicles for passenger transportation, with 14 violations found for promoting these services.
41 vehicles were seized during the inspection in May.
