Dubai has made a great recovery from the pandemic and is one of the most open cities in the world.
Currently, a hub for business, tourism, meetings, conferences and sports, Dubai has now exceeded pre-pandemic levels.
From January and March 2022, over four million international visitors were noticed, with a 214% increase from 2021.
Dubai also ranked number one in hotel occupancy with 82% in the first quarter of the year.
Family-friendly events like the 26th season of Global Village saw 7.8 milion visitors.
Additionally, Tripadvisor’s Travellers Choice 2022 report named Dubai as the world’s most popular travel destination.
Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism has added that 120 events were held in 2021 and brought together 70,000 opinion leaders, government officials and industry professionals.
Expo 2020 Dubai was also held and saw 192 countries participating for six months, garnering a total number of 24 million visits during the pandemic.
Dubai also hosted a number of sporting events including the Dubai Desert Classic at Emirates Golf Club and the ICC Men’s T20 Cricket World Cup.
