Dubai Police have announced that they have arrested over 1,000 beggars since March.
The arrests were made as part of the 'Begging is a Wrong Concept of Compassion', held from mid-March until the Eid Al Fitr holidays.
Spots that beggars frequent were monitored, and 902 men and 98 women were arrested.
321 arrests before Ramadan, 604 arrests during Ramadan and 75 arrests during the Eid al-Fitr break were made.
