Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that the Umm Al Sheif metro station has been renamed to Equiti metro station.
The decision was made between Equiti Group, a brokerage service company and the RTA, and the name change will last for a period of 10 years.
The Equiti metro station is on the Red Line, in between the Al Safa metro station and the Mall of the Emirates metro station.
Located on Sheikh Zayed Road, outside the Gold and Diamond Park, the metro station serves areas in Al Quoz and Umm Al Sheif.
The name will be changed within the month on signboards, electronic systems as well as onboard voice announcements to familiarise regular passengers with the new name.
Iskandar Najjar, CEO of Equiti Group said, “Equiti is honoured to have been invited to be a part of the infrastructure and community of the UAE through the naming rights of one of Dubai’s most centrally located metro stations on Sheikh Zayed Road. As a global broker, we are exceptionally pleased to collaborate with the Roads and Transport Authority on our journey to becoming the most prominent multi-asset, a multi-platform broker in the UAE.”
