Dubai Police has advised delivery drivers to follow all road and safety protocols.
In 2021, 20,3312 violations for motorbike riders were reported and 880 motorbikes were seized.
Some of the violations reported were overtaking from the hard shoulder, stopping on the sidewalk, incorrect parking and not following the correct lane.
Due to the pandemic, the demand for the number of online deliveries has also increased.
The initiative launched by Dubai Police is aimed at ensuring all delivery drivers follow the protocols in line with international standards.
Additionally, delivery drivers will have to undergo 20 hours of training to receive their motorbike license.
Two hours of night training is compulsory.
Delivery drivers will also be taught how to drive despite distractions as well as will have the delivery box placed for better balance and training.
