His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has announced the 1 billion meals initiative.
The humanitarian initiative will begin during Ramadan and with the aim of providing 1 billion meals to people that are poor and hungry in over 50 countries.
The initiative is organised by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) and builds on the 100 million meals campaign launched last Ramadan, with the target increased this year.
