Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) along with Careem have added 950 new e-bikes across 95 new stations.
The pedal-assisted e-bikes use kinetic energy and pedals to move and will help offer a sustainable mode of transport.
With aims to add 3,500 bikes to 350 stations, there are currently 1,750 bikes at 175 stations.
The new stations can be found at Jumeirah Beach, Al Safa, Dubai Canal, Dubai Marina, Al Mamzar, Al Satwa, Jumeirah 1, Al Khawaneej, Al Jafliya, Business Bay, Dubai Internet City and Jumeirah Lakes Towers.
With the use of bikes as a mode of transport, the use of private vehicles on the roads will decrease and a reduction in traffic will be noticed.
The bike service uses tracking systems to manage rentals and can be easily unlocked via the app.
Daily, weekly, monthly and annual passes are available for prices starting at Dhs 20.
