Silver Coins Issued For UAE 50th

The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE) has issued seven commemorative silver coins in celebration of the UAE's 50th celebration and will honour the Founding Fathers.

3,000 sets of seven silver coins will be made and will be priced at Dhs 50 for each coin.

The front of the coin will feature black and white images of all the founding fathers on each coin along with a coloured image of the current rulers of the Emirates.

The black and white photographs of the founding fathers will include the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, late Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, late Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, late Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmed Al Mualla, late Sheikh Saqr bin Muhammad Al Qasimi and late Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Sharqi.

The images of the present rulers will include His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Fujairah, His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Umm Al Qaiwain and His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah.

The other side of the coin will have the fiftieth year logo with the Central Bank of the UAE name in Arabic and English as well as the value of the coin.

The silver coins will be available for sale from 3 January 2022 at the CBUAE headquarters and its branches until stock runs out for Dhs 2,000.
