His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has announced that Dubai has become the first government in the world to go paperless.
The Dubai Paperless Strategy was launched in 2018 and 100% of the targets set have now been achieved.
The aim of the initiative was to switch to a digital format and cut down on the consumption of about 336 million papers by 45 government sectors.
With the initiative, Dhs 1.3 billion was saved and 14 million manhours have been reduced.
By moving to a digital platform, individuals will be able to access information at a better pace and will in turn increase customer happiness.
