The UAE Government Media Office announced yesterday that the public sector will move to a four and a half day working week.
Individuals will work full days from Monday to Thursday and four and a half hours on Friday and will receive their weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has also announced that the new working week will also be implemented for the private sector, with a one day paid leave available during the week and an increase in paid leaves, based on the company’s decision.
The new school week will also change with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) announcing that all private schools will now operate for four and a half days rather than five, from Monday through to Friday.
All Abu Dhabi private and charter schools will also follow a four and a half-day school week, as announced by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK).
