Dubai Municipality has launched a new rating system for restaurants called Dubai Star.
The rating will be the first global rating system for restaurants in Dubai to help honour restaurants that are producing high quality as well as safe and healthy food.
Restaurants will be rated annually on the basis of food safety and quality, food quality standards, sustainability and social responsibility.
Based on the assessment of a professional and multidisciplinary team, the rating will be given based on how well the restaurant complies with the requirements.
The Dubai Star rating will be recognised internationally and is aimed to support sustainable food systems that are in line with the plans for the future.
The initiative was launched during the 15th Dubai International Food Safety Conference at Expo 2020 Dubai.
