The Landmark Group has announced that the 12th edition of the annual CSR campaign, Beat Diabetes will be held this month.
The day-long event will take place on 26 November at Zabeel Park.
The walk aims to increase awareness of diabetes and the management of the disease among communities in the UAE, by getting tested, eating healthy and staying active.
According to the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), 55 million people in the MENA region are living with diabetes, with 463 million people in the world diagnosed with diabetes.
The event will be held in person in accordance will all COVID-19 government protocol, with last year's Beat Diabetes awareness all held virtually.
Steppi, a partner in the walk will measure the total steps taken by all the participants at the event and participants can also avail free blood level testing at kiosks as well as activities including Zumba, yoga, healthy cooking classes, an area for kids and more, around the venue.
Al Jalila Foundation will raise funds at the event towards diabetes research and treatment with Landmark Group matching the donations made.

Tickets are priced at Dhs 20 for adults and Dhs 10 for children aged 8 to 14 years. Children below 8 can enter for free.
