The Abu Dhabi Sports Council has announced that the fourth edition of the UAE Tour will be held on 20 February 2022.
The only world tour race held in the Middle East will also start the 2022 UCI World Tour racing calendar, beginning and ending in Abu Dhabi.
The race is organised along with RCS Sports Next and will feature a range of landscapes including mountains, coastal roads, desert roads and city streets, across its seven stages.
The new edition of the race will host 19 UCI World Teams for the first time.
His Excellency Aref Hamad Al Awani, General Secretary of Abu Dhabi Sports Council said, “After a challenging but successful 2021 UAE Tour amidst the coronavirus pandemic we are now looking ahead to host the 2022 UCI WorldTour opener. The 2022 edition coincides with the Expo 2020 Dubai and we are really excited to be part of this global event. Obviously, we are looking for a bigger event and play a bigger role to portray the UAE as a global venue."
