The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) along with the Ministry of Health and Protection (MoHaP), has announced that wearing face masks is now not mandatory in certain places.
When not wearing a face mask though, individuals need to maintain a distance of 2 metres.
Individuals that are exercising outside do not need to wear a face mask.
While at the beach or at the pool, face masks are not mandatory.
Additionally, individuals at salons or barbershops are also not required to wear masks, as well as those receiving medical treatment at clinics and medical facilties.
Masks are no longer mandatory for familes from the same houselhold travelling in private vehicles.
The decision has been made as there has been a decrease in the number of COVID-19 cases in the UAE, as well as through the administration of vaccines that help to boost immunity to fight the virus.
