Dubai Sports Council has announced that the Dubai CrossFit Championship will be held this year in December.
The championship will be held at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Stadium from 16 December to 18 December.
The three-day event will offer a prize money of over Dhs 1 million and will see 40 of the world’s biggest CrossFit stars be a part of the event.
The CrossFit event is the first of its kind in the world and will feature 20 male and 20 female CrossFit athletes participating during this edition of the Championship.
Iceland’s Annie Thorisdottir, the first woman to win the CrossFit Games twice and UK's Samantha Briggs, who won the CrossFit Games in 2013 will be a part of the list of participants this year.
The event will be broadcast live on Dubai Sports TV and on the Dubai CrossFit Championship website and YouTube channel.
The championship aims to promote health, happiness and fitness, both locally and internationally.
