Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a new structure to regulate commercial transport activities called The Support, Transport and Rental Activities.
The new classifications aim to regulate commercial transport activities and boost the accessibility of clients and investors to RTA’s services in various transport sectors.
The commercial transport activities come under four main categories, Transport Activities, Transport Services Management Activities, Rental Activities and Transport Support Activities.
Transport activities include the companies that operate vehicles according to the type of activities which includes licensed drivers and approved vehicles for cargo transport and passenger transport.
Rental activities include companies that own vehicles and machinery and rent them to third parties.
Transport services management activities include the companies that practice activities relating to managing or delivering services in the transport or rental sector.
Transport support activities include companies that deliver services relating to the qualification of drivers, professionals and service centres as well as the registration of technical testing of vehicles and machinery.
